Buddy Guy New York Concert reviews
Counting Crows Rock!
An enjoyable summer evening, this was my first time seeing Buddy Guy. I was very pleasantly surprised, not knowing much about him except what I've heard my wife play. Adam Duritz, a captivating entertainer and dynamic singer and band leader, conducting a band that swelled to 12 people on stage at one time. The vocal harmonies of the combined lineup were exquisite - shades of the Beach Boys and Crosby, Stills & Nash. The idea of both acts performing together and in various groupings was genius - it changed the usual dynamic of an ignored opening act into a collaborative effort that was highly creative and entertaining. A joy was an eclectic set list ranging from Van Morrison to the Beatles to the usual Buddy Guy hits. An act I intend to see again!
